Tulay Naga Meet with Morning Accident

Once again this blog featured not only positive side of Cebu Province. This is about the reality of Cebu towards the eye of visitors. You might not like the pictures but please go on.

The morning of Saturday, Cebu Naga residence is greated with a loud noise from 2 large vehicles. One is a minibus and the other 10 wheeler truck. Report said they have a head to head collision with the bus driver taking the opposing lane.

Family and friends including bystanders are waiting outside the emergency room of Cebu South General Hospital.


This is the list of the casualties. I am amazed on this barangay officials who  have the courage to write the list of death and still confined.


He even explain to the reporter the details of the passengers. Saying both the drivers are gone already.


And the media cover the name and news as expected. None of them raised concerned regarding the attitude of the  Cebu bus drivers in the street.  If you are driving in Cebu Highway, men you are in combat zone. Do not think of your rights or road. Think about your right to live. Never the LTO arrest any reckless driving for years so the habit of taking opposite sides is common. This bus driver meet their match at the expense of his passengers.

Places to visit

1. Sta Monica Church - One of the oldest churches in the country, Sta Monica Church was build under the supervision of Fray Miguel Murguia on 1774. With majestic baroque influences define by the use of attached coupled piers in Corinthian style, the architecture of the facade is articulated following the tenets of the baroque movement.

2. St. martin of Tours Church in Dumalag Capiz. This centuries old Church is mad eof yellow sandstone. The Church 6 arched windows at each side with columns between them reaching the roof with buttresses at the side give it a different look. At the front left side of the church is the 5 story belfry housing five bells of different sizes all made in 1811.


3. Sindadya sa Halaran Festival - Roxas City which is literacy means joy in sharing and thanks giving. Sindaya Festival is fusion of 2 festival, Sindaya of Roxas City and the Halaran of the province. It is held every Decmeber 4 - 8 in Roxas City.

4. Suhoton Caves in Agcagay, Jamindan, Capiz - It has several multi-layered chambers with some area as big as cathedrals. Inside the chambers is altar like formation surrounded by stalagmites.

5. Aglatin Shrine in Brgy dulangan Pilar Capiz. Consider as one of the tallest religious icon in the country with 80' statue of blessed Virgin Mary atop a mountain.

6. Suhot Cave and Spring - Dumalag Capiz . A series of interconnected caverns of different sizes. At the caves arched entrance is a pool of clear, ice-cold water fed by a rock spring from within the cave.

Table Tennis Tournament in Cebu

Last March 21, 2009, The 2nd Gerry Carillo Cup 2009 was held in SM Cebu City. This tournament is organize by Metro Cebu Table Tennis League.

Team from well known school like University of Cebu and
University of San Jose Recoletos show early lead at the beginning.

Sports like this here in Cebu are seldom to see.
There are less support from private and public agency.
This is the first time I saw this kind of tournament here in SM
for 8 years living in Cebu

Alona Beach Club

My boholana friend told me that if you are looking for
a place in Bohol where visitors are doing a topless then
this is the place the Aloha Beach Resort in Bohol.

A friend of mine said Alona Beach Club in Panglao Bohol is
co-equal with Bohol beach club. However, its advantage is that
there are more foreigner in this beach than the above mention.

Missing Tarsier is now worth P40,000

A friend of mine use to design image and she save it in her iStock account. There is one guy from CDO who request to copy the image for he likes it so much. Out of pity, this kind artist
give the approval as long it is for personal use.

After either weeks or month, my friend artist was inform by somebody about this image. She was inform that her image won a grand price in graphics competition in which she never participated.

When she look at it, she found that the image was the one copied by someone from CDO under the shadow of friendship and being a fans of her works.

In short, this guy from Cagayan de Oro, took the image from her, then without any approval submitted it as entry in graphics competition held somewhere in Mindanao. Once he got the prize, he never share nor inform her this awards.
